Amex and Delta just did something they've genuinely never done before on the Reserve card: instead of dumping more SkyMiles into a pile you'll never fully redeem, the new welcome offer is 50,000 bonus miles PLUS two round-trip Delta Comfort Class flight certificates with no blackout dates, after you put $10,000 on the card in your first six months. That spend hurdle is real money, and this is the $650-a-year card, so it's built for people who already fly Delta constantly, not for someone chasing a shiny sign-up bonus. But two blackout-free round-trip tickets is the rare perk that actually gets used, instead of a stack of miles that loses value every time Delta quietly re-prices its award chart.
The fine print, because there's always fine print: you'll still owe up to $80 per person in taxes and fees on each flight, you have to book at least 21 days out, and the certificates expire January 15, 2028, so don't let them rot in your wallet. The offer runs from August 27 through November 4, 2026, and reverts to the old, worse terms the second that window closes.
