Frontier just did something it's never done before: it's flying to South America. Starting this December, the budget carrier is launching nonstop service from Orlando to three Colombian cities — Medellín (Dec. 10), Bogotá (Dec. 14), and Cartagena (Dec. 19) — filling the gap Spirit left behind when it went under earlier this year. To celebrate, Frontier slapped introductory one-way fares as low as $99 on the new routes, but you've got to book by September 16 at 11:59pm ET to lock them in.
The fine print is very Frontier: fares are for travel January 14 through April 5, 2027, on "select days of the week" only, with a blackout stretch March 23–30 that conveniently eats most of spring break. Cartagena starts as a once-a-week flight, so don't expect schedule flexibility there, and Bogotá doesn't go daily until March 2027. Everything's also technically "subject to government approval," which is standard boilerplate for a brand-new international route but worth knowing before you get too attached to a specific date.
Still, $99 to be among the first people flying nonstop from Orlando to Bogotá on a route that didn't exist last week is a genuinely good deal if your travel dates line up — just don't buy the ticket assuming daily service from day one.
