British Airways just quietly dropped a two-and-a-half-day flash sale, and if you blink you'll miss it: over 200,000 short-haul seats from London Heathrow going for as little as £49 each way. Manchester, Dublin, Madrid, Stockholm, Malaga, Oslo, Naples, Luxembourg, even Inverness if that's your thing. The booking window slams shut at 23:59 BST on September 21, 2026 — which, as of when we're writing this, is basically tomorrow night. No lounging around on this one.
The catch, because there's always one: travel is locked to 11 November–16 December 2026 and 5 January–17 March 2027, with the Christmas and New Year peak blacked out entirely. So this is a "fill our off-peak seats" sale wearing a flash-sale costume, not a golden ticket home for the holidays. Fares are one-way and vary by route, so don't assume £49 gets you to Naples specifically — some routes run higher. Still, £49 each way to Madrid or Dublin out of Heathrow is a legitimately good fare if your dates line up.
