Air France and KLM just turned "book a flight to Europe" into "book a flight to Europe and get paid in miles for the privilege." Through August 31, 2026, any US-based Flying Blue member who books a new economy ticket from a US gateway routing through Paris-CDG or Amsterdam gets a flat 10,000 bonus Flying Blue Miles tacked onto whatever the flight already earns. No elite status required, no minimum spend, no quietly-targeted-offer nonsense that excludes half the mailing list. Book it, fly it by January 31, 2027, get the miles.
The catch, because there is always one: this is revenue tickets only. Paying with miles does not trigger the bonus, and you only get to cash in once per person during the window. It has to be an actual Air France or KLM flight number too, not a Delta codeshare wearing an Air France costume, and at least one leg of the itinerary has to touch CDG or AMS. The bonus miles can take up to six weeks after your trip wraps to land in your account, so do not expect them before your luggage.
Is 10,000 miles life-changing? No. It is roughly a fifth of a transatlantic redemption, or enough to nudge you toward one of Flying Blue's cheaper Promo Reward fares, which is a fine reward for doing nothing except booking a ticket you might have bought anyway. The booking window is a tight 12 days, but the travel date is flexible clear through the end of January, so this is really a "lock in the booking now, fly whenever" move for anyone already eyeing Paris or Amsterdam.
